UDHAMPUR, Sept 30: Expressing grave concern over the failure of the Rural Development schemes and large scale irregularities in their implementation in the various remote and far fling villages of Ramnagar constituency, Harshdev Singh NPP chairman and former minister has appealed for the urgent intervention of the Chief Minister and Minister concerned to address the peoples’ concerns in such affected areas.
He regretted that Rural Dev Department which was assigned with the role of creation of durable infrastructure and implementation of poverty alleviation schemes in the rural areas for the uplift of rural poor had miserably failed to fulfill its obligation. He was addressing huge public gatherings in villages Majori, Chakaal and Sia Merri in the first leg of his three days tour of remote villages of Dudu-Basantgarh tehsil of Ramnagar constituency.
Peeved over the negligible impact of various schemes including MG-NREGA, IAY, DPAP, IWMP and TSC in the remote villages, Harshdev regretted large scale pilferages and plunder of funds provided under the said schemes in the said villages. He lamented that there was hardly any tangible impact of the aforesaid schemes on the ground with the public complaints regarding swindling of funds by corrupt officials having fallen on deaf ears.
He regretted non- initiation of action against corrupt officials whose frauds in Block Khoon had been established but were being sheltered due to patronage of political persons and Departmental officers. He invited attention of the RDD Minister towards the large scale frauds under MG-NREGA and IWMP and called for a probe into the works shown to have been executed in records during the last two years with their physical verification followed by appropriate legal action against delinquents.
NPP leader regretted the pathetic plight of roads, power supply systems and staff deficient schools in such areas. He called for early repairs and up-gradation of Ramnagar-Dudu-Basantgarh road whose deplorable condition desperately cried for renovation and restoration. He called for immediate commencement of construction work over Basantgarh-Khaned raod; Kirchi-Seoj Dhar raod, Punara-Kadwa road, Punara-Loudra road, Pachound-Chapper road and Flangu to Cherri road which were got approved during his tenure as MLA.
