Rohit, Ajay, Sonam emerge winners in U-19 1500 meters; Poonch registers berth in Cricket final

JAMMU, Oct 6: Inter District Divisional Level Champion-ships, being organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports, were played at different venues.
JAMMU: Inter District Divisional Level Athletic Meet for boys under all age group concluded here today.
In under-19 (1500 meters), Rohit Manhas of District Doda, Ajay Kumar of District Jammu and Sonam Rigzen of District Kishtwar clinched gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In under-17 (1500 meters), Rahul Singh of District Jammu, Mangal Singh of District Kathua and Rajeev Kumar of District Udhampur bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In under-17 Triple Jump, Nazar Singh of District Jammu, Ramandeep Singh of District Samba and Muzafar Ahmed of District Ramban secured gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In under-19 Triple Jump, Pankaj Sharma of District Jammu, Gourav Baloria of District Samba and Muzaffar Farooq of District Udhampur secured gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In under-14 (200 meters), Rahul Singh of District Samba, Gourav Kumar of District Jammu and Ajay Singh of District Kathua clinched gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In under-17 (200 meters), Randeep Singh of District Jammu, Shamsher Singh of District Udhampur and Umar Farooq of District Ramban bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In under-19 (200 meters), Ajay Lakha of District Jammu, Vinod Kumar of District Kathua and Waqar Yunis of District Doda secured gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In under-19 (4X400 meters Relay), District Jammu, District Kathua and District Ramban secured gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
KATHUA: Inter District Division Level Super Seven Cricket Tournament for under-19 boys and girls commenced here at Sports Stadium.
The inaugural match was played between Kathua and Rajouri, in which Rajouri could not chase the target of 62 runs given by Kathua in prescribed 7 overs and bundled out at 59 runs. Anuj of Kathua made 15 runs in 11 deliveries.
In second match, Jammu set a target of 98 runs for Udhampur. Sumit played a splendid inning of 59 runs. In reply, Udhampur collapsed at 60 runs.
In the first semis, Poonch crushed Kathua by 3 runs and registered berth in the final. Poonch set a target of 52 runs in 7 overs and in reply, Kathua bundled out at 49 runs.
