SAMBA, Oct 10: The villagers of Pati Raya More today protested against the dismantling of a room constructed in the memory of a 1962 Chinese war martyr in the village.
The protesters also took up the issue with the police authorities of Samba and Vijaypur and demanded action in the matter. The police while taking the cognizance of the matter has assured to visit the area day after tomorrow for investigation.
The SHO Samba said that the police has taken the cognizance of the matter and after Dusherra a police team will visit the area to ascertain the facts. He said there is dispute between two parties over the land. The room was built on the name of martyr Om Parkash Sharma who had attained martyrdom during Indo-China war in 1962.
