NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today called for collective action to root out all discrimination against the girls child and give them all opportunities to realise their potential.
”We should collectively work towards an India where there is no discrimination based on gender& where girls get all opportunities to shine,” the Prime Minister tweeted on the occasion of the International Day of the Girl Child.
”The girl child has left a mark in every area, from studies to sports. Saluting their accomplishment on the International Day of the Girl Child,” he said in another tweet.
The Prime Minister has launched many ambitious and innovative schemes for the development of the girl child like ‘Beti Bachao and Beti Padhao’.
However, studies point out lack of critical data on the status of the girl children, and also on the monitoring for the schemes for their development that was hampering the path to achieve the desired result. (AGENCIES)
