RAJOURI, Oct 2: The police seized four vehicles smuggling 22 bovine animals from Rajouri area and arrested four persons in this connection early today.
A police spokesman said that Rajouri police party led by SHO Vinod Gupta, under the directions of SP Rajouri Mubassar Latiffi, laid naka during early hours today on Jammu-Poonch highway and seized four Tata Mobile vehicles bearing registration No. JK-11A/1880, JK-11/ 370, JK-11/8273 and JK02AK/6181.
Total 22 bovine animals were found loaded in these vehicles. The drivers of the vehicles were arrested. They could not produce any valid document related to transportation of bovine animals from District Magistrate. The vehicles along with animals were seized and a case was registered against the accused persons.
Those arrested were identified as Mohd Mushtaq and Mohd Aslam, both brothers hailing from Nagrota village near Rajouri, Majjar Hussain from Niaka Panj Grain in Rajouri and Imran Latief, hailing from Khabla village in Rajouri.
