JAMMU, Oct 15: Eight cueists made it to the quarterfinal stage in the ongoing 1st J&K State Six Red Ball Championship, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Billiards and Snooker Association (JKBSA), at billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here today.
The players, who made it to quarterfinal round, are Vidit Gawri, Ishan Chowdhary, Ishuk Chowdhary, Avish Sharma, Rahil Bhat, Jaideep Manocha, Younis Kuchey and Mudasir Ashiq.
Earlier in the first pre-quarter match of the tournament, Vidit Gawri beat Sourav Dogra by 4-2, whereas in the second match, Ishan Chowdhary defeated Rajat Khanna by 4-3.
In the third match, Ishuk Chowdhary registered win over Rizwan Ahmed by 4-1, whereas in the fourth match, Avish Sharma crushed Abhi Gupta by straight 4-0 frames.
Rahil Bhat thrashed Umar Himanyu by 4-1 in the fifth game, whereas in the sixth game, Jaideep Manocha registered win over Akshay Kumar by 4-1.
In the seventh match, Younis Kuchey beat Abid Bhat by 4-1, whereas in the eighth match, Mudasir Ashiq crushed Nikhil Kapahi by 4-2.
The matches were being held under strict supervision of the JKBSA members and played with the rules and regulations of Billiards and Snooker Federation of India (BSFI).
The matches were officiated by Rakesh Sharma, Pawan Khajuria and Ashok.
