Springdales School organises Inter School English Poem Recitation Competition

JAMMU, Oct 15: Springdales School, Muthi organized an Inter School English Poem Recitation Competition today at the school premises.
Including the host school, seven schools participated in the event viz. Springdales, Canal Road, KC International School, Crescent Public School, St. Xaviers Convent School, Vishwabharti School, Deewan Badrinath School and Springdales, Muthi participated.
The competition was judged by Prof. Asha Sharma, Retired Principal, Government Women College, Jammu and Dr Sadaf, Senior Lecturer, University of Jammu who were also the chief guest and guest of honour respectively of the event.
The competition was open for students of classes 1st to 8th and it was divided into three groups as per the classes.
The competition was keenly contested and students recited poems containing humor, emotion and social messages. Springdales School, Canal Road was the overall winner in Group B and Group C while KC International School was the winner in Group A.
Prof. Asha Sharma spoke about the importance of such events in the overall development of the children. She encouraged the children to participate in such events.
Dr Sadaf in her address mentioned the significance of poetry in today’s materialistic world and said that poetry is the most refined medium to express one’s thoughts and emotions.
