JAMMU, Oct 17: Maintain-ing that the State Government so far seems not serious in addressing their issues, All Migrant Employees Association Kashmir (AMEAK) has made an appeal to Home Minister of India for immediate intervention in their matter so that they will not face any more hardships.
Hundreds of employees on the 93rd day of protest were raising slogans in support of their demands. They alleged that they have been asked to join their duties by the officials at the helm of affairs despite knowing everything very well. They said that it is very unfortunate that these officials are serving show cause notices to employees for past many days. Further, they said that majority of employees are without salaries for past few months and with the result their families are facing starvation.
They said that they have full faith on the Central Government that it would look into the matters of package and non package employees who have left Valley due to unrest and mob violence. ” It is not easy for us to go back and join duties at the present circumstances,” said Anita, a protestor adding that Government must settle their issue once for all so that they could live with dignity and honour.
These employees were seeking their adjustment in camp offices at Jammu till Government will create conducive atmosphere for them in the Valley. These employees believed that it would be very dangerous to force them to join their duties without noticing the gravity of situation.
Making an appeal to Home Minister Rajnath Singh for paying attention towards this serious issue, the protesting employees said that the visionary Home Minister of India has already been communicated the demands and concern during recent visit of All Party Delegation in Jammu besides through submission of memorandum to his office. They said that they are pinning high hopes that they would get justice.
Various employees also addressing the gathering on the protest site and threw light on their working of more than five years in Valley. They said that they have faced hardships and other problems while discharging their duties and now it is duty of the Government to protect dignity, honour and rights of their employees. They said that they were ready to work in Valley provided the situation is conducive.
