Declare gazetted holiday on Vishwakarma Day: Sabha

JAMMU, Oct 19: Pradesh Vishwakarma Sabha is organizing Shoba yatra on the occasion of Vishwakarma Day falling on October 30.
This was stated by president of the Sabha, Shashi Verma while talking to reporters here today. He said the Shoba Yatra will be flagged off by president of All India Vishwakarma Maha Sabha, Shadi Lal Vishwakarma along with vice chairman OBC Advisory Board, Rishpaul Verma.
The Shoba Yatra will start from Head Office of the Sabha at Gurah More here and it will pass via Canal road, Jewel Chowk, Gumat and Raghunath bazaars, Shalimar Chowk, B C road , Maheshpora Chowk and later culminate at head office of the Sabha.
This will be followed by serving of community feast. He demanded that Vaishwakarma falling on next day of Diwali be declared as a gazetted holiday as entire working class especially those linked to skilled and technical works are celebrating this day all over the country.
He asked when holidays have been declared on birth days of other saints and sages why not on the Vishwakarma Day?
He also made an appeal to the people to celebrate the day with fervor and enthusiasm.
Vijay Kumar and Charan Jit (Bita), vice presidents of Sabha, Capt (retd) Lal Chand, general secretary, Sham Chargotra cashier of the Sabha and Yoginder Angotra its office secretary were also present in the press conference.
