JAMMU, Oct 19: The State Vigilance Organization (SVO) today conducted joint surprise checks in the offices of Chief Medical Officer, Udhampur, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Udhampur and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Doda.
The surprise checks were conducted on the basis of inputs regarding large scale bungling in supply of kits, equipments and medicines by Aids Control Society.
“The inputs with Vigilance Organization suggested that these equipments didn’t reach to the hospitals for treatment of the poor patients suffering from multiple aids diseases and instead were being sold black in black-market for monetary benefits by the staff members of the Aids Control Society,” sources said.
The Vigilance teams were collecting the records pertaining to the NGOs involved in Aids Control Society, who are receiving funds from the National Aids Control Society, they added.
The joint surprise checks teams were headed by DySP Kamaljeet Singh and DySP Kartar Singh under the supervision of SSP (Udhampur-Doda range) of Vigilance Organization, Jammu.
The Vigilance Organization is scrutinizing the record seized/obtained during the raids and probe is going on to find the facts, sources said.
