NEW DELHI: Senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad today expressed deep anguish over the killing of 15 people in a road accident in Jammu and Kashmir saying there was “deterioration” in traffic management in the State.
Expressing deep condolence over the casualties, Azad said the Jammu and Kashmir Government should provide adequate medical help to those injured in this accident.
“I have repeatedly been expressing my concern on the deteriorating traffic management on hilly terrain of Jammu and Kashmir and particularly the Jammu region. This has resulted in many fatal accidents, claiming scores of precious human lives. My heart goes out for those who lost their loved ones,” he said in a statement.
Azad, a former Chief Minister of the State, hoped that adequate measures will be taken while managing traffic on the road in Reasi.
At least 15 people were killed and 30 others injured today when a vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and rolled into a deep gorge in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. (AGENCIES)
