JAMMU, Oct 3: A splendid half-century by Gajender and a superb 5-wicket haul by Mukesh Negi helped Koshur Club to register a narrow win by 16 runs over Shehjar Club to advance in the ongoing 1st Tikalal Taploo Inter-State Cricket Tournament, being organized by Koshur Cricket Club at Mohan Meakins Ground at Gaziabad.
Put into bat, Koshur Club rode on superb half-century by Gajender, who scored 65 runs in 51 balls with 4 fours, made a modest total of 131 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Vinu Sadhu and Amit Kaul contributed 18 and 10 runs to the total respectively. Vishal, Raju Koul and Sushant claimed 2 wickets each for Shehjar Club.
In reply, Shehjar Club bundled out for 115 runs to lose the match by 16 runs. Rohit Taploo top scored with 43 runs while Rajat contributed 24 runs to the total. Mukesh Negi was the wrecker-in-chief for Koshur Club, who scalped 5 wickets in his 4 overs by conceding 19 runs, while Vicky claimed 3 and Gajender 2 wickets. Gajender of Koshur Club was adjudged man of the match for his fabulous all-round show.
The match was officiated by Ashok Kumar and Zait as umpires, while Imran maintained the scorebook.
