NEW DELHI: Continuing on its strong run at the box office, ‘M S Dhoni: The Untold Story’ has earned a gross of Rs 129.50-crore, becoming the second highest grosser of 2016, trade sources said today. ^
‘M S Dhoni: The Untold Story’, directed by Neeraj Pandey, has earned Rs 129.50-crore till date in India. It has thus crossed the lifetime earnings of the Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Airlift’ (Rs 129-crore). The film, which is based on the life of India one-day cricket team captain M S Dhoni, is now the second highest grosser of 2016 after ‘Sultan’.
The film, which features Sushant Singh Rajput in the title role and Disha Patani, Kiara Advani, Anupam Kher and Bhumika Chawla in key roles, has won applause from the audiences as well as critical acclaim since its release on September 30.
The film has also earned the distinction of being the highest earning biopic in India. (AGENCIES)
