Sir,
Your editorial on Mantalai Dated October 23, 2016 conveys detailed information about the present pathetic state of Aparna Ashram at Mantalai. The place which was already developed to the great extent during the time of Swamy Dhirendra Brahamchari turned into ruins after his sad demise. As learned from this paper, the funds for the development of Mantalai have since been allocated and project report is being prepared which conveys a ray of hope in the mind of locals that work shall be executed in near future. It is worth to mention here that this place has also the heritage importance. According to a legend, it is believed that marriage of Lord Shiva was solemnized with goddess Parvati at this place. The history of the village needs to be viewed with archaeological evidences like conducting the dating test of broken potteries existing in a mound at Mantalai. The ASI Jammu may carry out the excavation , collect the samples and forward to laboratory for Thermoluminisence (TL) testing
Yours etc…
