Man booked for attempt to murder

JAMMU, Oct 25: A man was today booked for attempt to murder in Kangar area of city outskirts.
According to SHO, police station Gharota, Inspector Satinder Pal Singh, a man identified as Rashpal son of Munshi Ram, resident of Kangar area falling within the limits of police station Gharota, this afternoon opened fire with his licensed rifle on the family members of Pritam Kumar son of Sardar Chand of same area to take revenge of assault on his two brothers by Pritam and his family members.
“However, none of them was hurt in the firing”, the officer said, adding, a case FIR No 70/2016 under 452, 307 RPC and 3/25 Arms Act has been registered at police station Gharota and the accused arrested.
He said earlier in the morning, Rashpal’s two brothers namely Mohan Lal (62) and Subhash (57) were attacked with stone by Pritam Kumar and his family members when the two visited a piece of land near the residence of Pritam.
“In the attack, both sustained injuries and were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment”, the officer said, adding, in this connection a case FIR No 69/2016 under Sections 341/323 RPC was registered at police station Gharota.
