SRINAGAR, Oct 25: Stressing on coordinated efforts among the investigating agencies by adopting latest techniques in forensic science, Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar has said that State Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has an important role in the speedy investigation of cases for their logical conclusion.
Rajendra was speaking, while commissioning modern Cyber Police Station and its affiliated DNA and Cyber Forensic (CF) Laboratories at FSL Headquarters Bemina this afternoon.
Saying that it is the need of hour to adopt modern scientific methods in the investigation for quick disposal of cases, he said keeping in view the future requirements of State FSL and cyber crimes, there is need for holistic plan to fully equip the organization to meet the challenges.
Rajenda said that crime detection and control is a major responsibility of Jammu and Kashmir Police besides other areas of policing and State FSL is doing a commendable job in the investigation field. The Wing has to improve its efficiencies to strengthen the investigation methods by adopting modern techniques and using latest equipments for crime control and detection, he added.
DGP said that modernization of JKP in all areas of policing is a continuous process and up-gradation of FSL is also a focussed area. He said that in the present times criminals are changing their strategies and the investigating agencies have also to acquaint the technical staff with the latest techniques and methods of investigation. Police Headquarters has been providing all required assistance to make Forensic Laboratory well equipped and reliable to provide every assistance to the agencies in bringing the culprits to justice, he said.
On the occasion, Rajendra along with Special DG, Coordination/Law and Order, Dr. S.P. Vaid went around labs and discussed professional expertise with the officers, staff members and stressed upon to take benefits of modern equipments provided to the police station and FSL to achieve better results.
The function was attended by ADGPs, Dilbahg Singh and L Mohanti, IGPs, HK Lohia and MA Ganai, Director SSG, SA Mujtaba, AIGPs, Sheikh Junaid and Kullbir Singh and Javaid Ahmed Koul, Exn: PCD, Nasir Hussain Zargar and other police officers.
