KATRA (Reasi) Oct 26: Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) and senior leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Vikramaditya Singh today said that Coalition Govt headed by Mehbooba Mufti is committed to ensure balanced and equitable development in the State.
Addressing a public meeting at village Magal in Katra while dedicating a transformer to the people of this belt, Singh said that the present Government, under the leadership of Mehbooba Mufti is working on the agenda of accelerated developmental activities in the State. He said that development of whole State is on the agenda of the Government but rural belts are the focused areas to improve socio economic conditions of the people living in the rural areas. He said that Coalition Government wants to provide better facilities to the rural people.
Vikramadiya further said that peace and development are the two priority areas of the coalition regime and the Government headed by Mehbooba Mufti is committed to establish lasting peace in this region. He said that peace is imperative for growth and development of any region and the Government is working assiduously to establish sustainable peace in the State.
Members of the village community were grateful that a transformer had been installed there by the PDD for the first time. This will help illuminate around 100 homes in the area.
The PDP leader said that it was shocking to see that despite being a neighbouring village of a rich town like Katra, there had been so little development in this area.
He assured the public that he would take up the matter with regards to supply of safe drinking water and completion of Maghal-Pamot bridge with the concerned ministries. The MLC said that he would be taking up the demands with the concerned authorities.
Shafiq- Ur- Rehman, Chander Mohan Singh, Pratap Sharma, Surinder Gupta, Poli Devi and Munish Kumar also accompanied the MLC.
