JAMMU, Oct 28: Sewa Committee Baridaran Shri Mata Vaishno Devi has taken exception to the claim of Shanker Dass and Shunkar Singh, self-styled vice president and secretary during a press conference that Sher Singh was elected president of the said committee on December 22, 2015, for the second term and described it as a big lie.
Talking to media-persons they said there was no record of first or previous election of the so-called self-styled president (Sher Singh).
Regarding the election of second term, it has been claimed that Sher Singh was elected unanimously, but on examining of the so-called resolution passed concerning the election under reference, we have the list of the persons having attended the said election meeting contains 58 names whereas only 37 have signed the resolution and out of the remaining 21 many were not present at all in the said meeting thereby proving that resolution under reference is a fabricated document.
They said it is a fact that a meeting of Baridars was held at Shridhar Sabha on December 23, 2015 in which a memorandum drafted by Rachhpal Singh, Director (Retd) pertaining to problems of Baridars was read by him and the same memorandum was subsequently handed over jointly by MLA Reasi Ajay Nanda and Rachhpal Singh to MoS in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh during his visit to Dehra Baba Banda Bahadur, Reasi in the month of April 2016.
They questioned had the election under reference been actually held, they would have issued the press release or given the information in the public domain at that point of time and not now after a lapse of 10 months.
They added that as per the election of Rachhpal Singh as Sewa Committee Baridaran on October 23, 2016 is concerned, it was conducted under the aegis of the Sewa Committee Baidaran, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, it was conducted by following the proper norms where the name was proposed by Sohan Singh Manyotra, R/o Chamyara and seconded and supported by a vast majority of people present in the general body meeting of Sewa Committee Baridaran.
