LEH, Oct 4: A K Mangotra, Secretary Border Management, Union Ministry of Home Affairs, today reviewed the projects being executed under Border Area Development Programme (BADP) in a meeting with the LAHDC and district administration.
The Secretary who assessed the execution of programme at border in Leh district, took feedback on problems being faced by the Government and the public.
After going through the power point presentation made by the DC Leh, Tsering Angchok in the presence of Chief Executive Councilor, Rigjin Spalbar, Mr Mangotra praised the initiatives at local level specially the residential schools and solar projects in the district and made a mention of additions in their guidelines like introduction of social audit involvement of district council and Panchyants during initiations and completion time of programmes to have their say in selection of works and third party audit.
During the meeting certain submissions were made like enhancement of funds under BADP for Indo-China border areas in Nubra block and Changthang region and Indo-Pak border areas in Khlatsi block.
The CEC urged for early release of delayed funds to complete the pending works under BADP and assist the completion of remaining 10 km of road construction from Tsomoriri to Chumur undertaken by NPCC. Mr Mangotra gave assurance to take up all these matters at required official levels.
