JAMMU, Nov 10: Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar and MBS College of Engineering and Technology lifted titles in the Inter-Collegiate Gatka Championship, organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu at its Gymnasium Hall, here.
The overall Championship in women’s section was won by GCW Gandhi Nagar and the team included Simranjeet Kour, Mandeep Kour, Avneet Kour, Harmeet Kour and Shweta, while the GCW Parade team stood 2nd and the players were Rasleen Kour, Balvinder Kour, Harneet Kour, Parvinder Kour, Jaspreet Kour and Dajleen Kour.
The overall Championship in men’s section was lifted by MBS College of Engineering and Technology and the players of the team were Simranjeet Singh, Jujhar Singh, Prabjyot Singh, Harjot Singh, Pawandeep Singh and Avideep Singh.
The team of Govt. MAM College stood 2nd and the players of the team were Mandeep Singh, Jasmeet Singh, Baljeet Singh, Charanjeet Singh, Gagandeep Singh, Lovejot Singh and Prabjyot Singh.
Prof. Avtar Singh Jasrotia, Director Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu awarded medals and trophies to the players of the winning teams in the presence of Manmeet Singh, Sumnesh Sharma, Suman Lata, Prof. Davinder Kour, Prof. Kuldeep Singh, Balbir Singh Chib, Sheetal and P.D. Singh.
The officials were Amarjeet Singh, Harsimran Singh, Ravinder Singh, Charanjit Singh, Parvinder Singh, Rupinder Singh, Lovepreet Singh and Yashpreet Singh.
Both the championships were organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu under the overall supervision of Prof. Avtar Singh Jasrotia, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
