Coriander, turmeric fall on subdued demand

NEW DELHI, Nov 19:  Coriander and turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today owing to subdued demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks.
Coriander and turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 each to settle at Rs 7,200-13,200 and Rs 8,300-11,800 per quintal, respectively.
Marketmen said absence of demand due to paucity of funds after the government in a surprise move, banned Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes in a bid to curb black money.
Following are today’s quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 170-230, black pepper (per kg) 690-810, betel-nut (kg) 240-295, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 910-930 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 960-1,130.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 1,100-1,200, cardamom (colour robin) 1,000-1,025, cardamom bold 1,075-1,100, cardamom extra (bold) 1,150-1,170 and cloves 550-700. (PTI)
