Heritage School celebrates Annual Day for Classes III, IV, V

JAMMU, Nov 23: Heritage School, Jammu celebrated its Junior School Annual Function for Classes III, IV &V at Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu, here today.
Priya Sethi , Minister of State for Education and Tourism graced the occasion as the chief guest, while JP Singh, IGP Commissioner Civil Military Liaison, Home Department, J&K was the guest of honour for the day.
Among the other special invitees were  Aijaz Ahmed Khan  MLA, Devinder Kumar Manyal, MLA and Tsetan Namgyal Kalon.
The Cultural Programme based on an adaptation of the sequel ‘Alice- Through the looking Glass’ witnessed a mass participation of nearly six hundred children. It emphasised on the importance of fantasy and imagination in the early childhood, which inspires children to think beyond set boundaries. It conveyed how life skills of problem solving, critical thinking and resilience can be taught to the children through the world of fantasy.
The proceedings of the event commenced with the lighting of the lamp to invoke the divine blessings of Goddess Saraswati.
The Head girl of the Primary Section, Stanzin Angmo Kalon, in her welcome speech, impressed upon the idea how fantasy and imagination help children on their holistic growth.
It was indeed a proud moment for the prize winners as they were presented with trophies for excelling in different co-scholastic activities.
First position in the Hindi Elocution was bagged by Legacy House whereas Dignity House swelled its kitty by bagging first position in the English Elocution, Group Song and Card Making competition. Culture house secured first position in the General Quiz competition. Overall co-curricular activities trophy was lifted by Dignity House.
Sunita Gupta, Chairperson, Heritage School, felicitated the chief guest with a memento.
The chief guest in her speech was all praise for the entire Heritage family , specially the children, for their earnest endeavour and urged them to uphold the traditions and values of our country. She emphasised the importance of these out of class activities in character building and teaching children the art of working and learning together.
She stressed that schools must nurture imagination of young impressionable minds and encourage them to surge ahead and transform dreams into realities.
