JAMMU, Nov 25: About 4500 students of DPS Jammu participated in ‘One Nation Reading Together-2016’, a PAN India Reading Activity organized by Scholastic India, in its premises here today.
The programme started at 12 noon with the  reading pledge especially written by the celebrated award-winning author Uma Krishnaswami, for the children. This was followed by the reading activity of 30 minutes in which the whole school, including students and the staff participated by reading their favourite books.
Further, to highlight the importance of books, the students of middle wing dressed up favourite characters from books and described their adventures, experiences and travails much to the excitement of their peer community. Other classes participated in book mark making, cover designing and decorating graffiti wall activities.
Addressing the students, Principal DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra urged the students to make book reading a part and parcel of their lives. She appreciated the efforts of students and staff. Headmistress, Meenu Gupta also urged students to explore world of books to make their foundations strong.
