JAMMU, Nov 25: All Jammu and Kashmir Ayurvedic Congress expressed concern over the report that National Accreditation Board has found five drugs procured and supplied by the Government Institutions by Directorate of ISM as sub-standard, severally infested with fungus and unfit for human consumption.
In a statement, Dr BR Sharma, President, All Jammu and Kashmir Ayurvedic Congress said that it is strange that despite being informed by the Vigilance Department about spurious drug scam, the Administrative Department has so far failed to initiate any action in the matter.
“Since drug procurement is not being made by Jammu and Kashmir Medical Supplies Corporation Limited and the sole responsibility of spurious drugs scam lies with Directorate of ISM”, he added.
He stated that Director General ISM needs to be relinquished from his post so that he could not use his position to influence on ongoing inquiry.
