JAMMU, Nov 26: Rainawari Cricket Club Srinagar, Sangarmal Cricket Club Jammu and Sai Cricket Club Jagti scripted convincing victories over their rivals in the ongoing AIKS Alcobrew Cricket League, being organized by All India Kashmiri Samaj in collaboration with J&K Police Department at Parade ground and Jammu University ground, here.
Earlier, in the first match at Parade grond, RCC won the toss and elected to bat first.
Batting first, RCC scored a decent total of 146 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Puneet Wattal and Shishu Bhat scored 29 runs each, Praful Dhar contributed unbeaten 27 runs to the total. For Fighters XI, Surinder Kachroo took 2 wickets, while Vishal and Vinu claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Fighters XI scored 143 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 3 runs. Rahul Koul top scored with 57 runs, while Surinder Kachroo contributed 37 runs to the total. For RCC, skipper Puneet Wattal took 3 wickets, while Praful Dhar claimed one wicket.
In another match at the same venue, Sangarmal Cricket Club defeated Surinder Cricket Club by a narrow margin of 9 runs. Batting first, Sangarmal Club scored a modest total of 117 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Sidharth top scored with 33 runs, while Shail and Raju chipped in with 15 and 11 runs respectively. For Surinder Club, Suman scalped 3 important wickets, while Raju claimed 2. Vijay, Rajesh and Provin claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Surinder Cricket Club bundled out for 108 runs, thus lost the match by 9 runs. Provin top scored with 34 runs, while Rajesh and Suman scored 16 and 13 runs respectively. For Sangarmal Club, Sahil took 3 wickets, while Rinku bagged 2.
At University ground, Sai Cricket Club drubbed Pomposh Cricket Club by 3 wickets. Pomposh Club scored 95/9 in 18 overs while batting first. Karan contributed 34 runs, while Rakesh and Sunny scored 22 and 10 runs to the total respectively. For Sai, Rahul and Arun took 2 wickets each, while Ashu and Sunil picked one wicket each.
In reply Sai Club scored 99/7 in 17.1 overs to win the match by wickets. Surinder (24), Vinay (23) and Vinod (15) were the main scorers. For Pomposh Club, Rajesh Raina and Sunny took 2 wickets each while Vimarsh Kaw, Mohit and Ajay claimed one wicket each.
The matches were officiated by Sudhir Singh, Amit Gupta, Kuldeep Kumar, Madan, Ashok, Vinod Kandyara and Sandeep Manchanda, while the matches were managed by Sanjay Raina, BK Tickoo and DN Bhat.
