JAMMU, Nov 26: The 3-day District Wushu Championship concluded at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here today.
Around 400 players drawn from different schools and clubs participated in the Championship, which was organized by the District Jammu Wushu Association.
On the valedictory function, Vijay Saraf, President J&K Wushu Association, Ranjeet Kalra, Member BCCI and Vice Chairman Sports Council Jammu and Deepak Handa Vice President, J&K Wushu Association distributed the prizes among the winners.
They also presented mementos to the technical officials for conducting the function smoothly.
They lauded efforts of the organizers for making the Wushu sports prominent in Jammu district and adjoining areas.
Champion Wushu players Bhanu Partap Singh and Rajinder Singh for winning silver medal in the World Cup and Asian Championship respectively, alongwith their coach Kuldeep Handoo, Chief Coach of India were felicitated on the occasion.
The vote of thanks was presented by Kuldeep Handoo.
Meanwhile, Kartavya Gupta was among a galaxy of budding players, who won gold in this Championship for which he was honoured by the guests on the occasion.
The Schools and Clubs which participated in the Championship were DPS School Jammu, Jodhamal Public School, K C Public school, Jain School ,Banyan International School, Tiny Tots Roop Nagar, Sanatam Dharam Kanya Vidyalaya School, MHAC Nagbani School, Shaurya Army School, Academy of Wushu (AoW) and Taps Out Academy,
Prominent among others present during the function were Sohit Sharma (Treasurer), Indoor Manager Satish, Divisional Sports Officer, Rajan Sharma, Arun Singh, Lalit Singh and Ashi Jamwal.
