JAMMU, Nov 28: Beating Adarsh Cricket Club and University XI respectively, WCC Blues ad WCC Reds won the opening matches of the T20 Winter Cup, which got underway at Country Cricket Academy ground, Gharota, here.
In the first match, WCC Blues defeated Adarsh Cricket Club by 6 wickets. Batting first, Adarsh Club scored 112 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process.
In reply, WCC Blues chased the target easily by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets.
In another match, WCC Reds got better of University XI in an exciting contest via super over. Batting first University XI scored a decent total of 176 runs, while in reply, WCC also scored equal number of runs in the stipulated overs, thus took the match to super over, wherein WCC Reds emerged winner.
