Need to overcome challenges on capability enhancement: Raha

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, Nov 29: Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha today stressed the need for overcoming various challenges faced by the IAF while undergoing capability enhancement with modernisation and new acquisitions.

Raha, who is the Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee (COSC), also emphasised on strengthening base security to preserve the expensive assets of IAF, both equipment and human.

He said this during his interaction with Command Staff and Station commanders during his two-day visit to Kerala along with his wife Lily Raha.

While complimenting the Air Warriors of SAC on their diligence, he exhorted them to be good professionals and operationalise the new equipment in a systematic manner, a Defence press release said.

While presiding over the Commanders’ Conclave of Station Commanders of all the Air Force units in the Southern region, he emphasised on the optimisation of resources and operational capability.

The Air Chief Marshal also laid stress on the requirement of focusing on key result areas and training and professional competency to achieve high levels of aerospace safety.

The Air Chief Marshal had arrived here yesterday on a two-day visit. (PTI)
