He said that local people have first right on the power being generated from this project.
Pointing towards huge tourism potential in this belt, Mr Sayeed said that during PDP-Congress regime Lakhanpur-Sarthal tourism circuit was especially setup to explore potential of this region. He said that Lakhanpur-Sarthal tourism circuit would change destiny of the people of this belt from Lakhanpur to Sarthal via Billawar, Basohli and Bani because there were a number of picturesque spots which would attract tourists from all over the country.   He further said that there was huge scope of water sports due to construction of lake here.
Responding to the demand of local people, the former Chief Minister assured that Mahanpur would be given tehsil status. “Our party endorses demand of the residents of Mahanpur that this town should be given status of tehsil”, he said.
He reminded the gathering that during PDP-Congress regime new administrative units were created to provide all possible facilities to the people at their door steps.
