JAMMU, Oct 7: Non camp migrants in a meeting here today held under the chairmanship of Nana Ji ex Sarpanch has expressed concern over the decision of Government to stop the relief benefits to those relief holders whose children have been appointed under PM’s employment package.
Expressing surprise over the decision, Mr Nana Ji said that this is a draconian decision. He said it was announced while framing the employment package that even the youth who will voluntarily join the duties in Valley will be provided the cash relief for two years. But in contrast to that the entire family has been deprived of relief benefits. Mr Nana Ji sought immediate intervention of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and Minister of Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation in the matter.
The meeting also urged the migrants to get themselves enrolled in the electoral rolls for which the process has been launched by Relief organization. It said the enrollment in voter lists is must for the displaced people and no family should miss this opportunity in any case.
