JAMMU, Dec 7: Newly renovated/decorated Mandir Marg, passing through the historical Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir complex Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, was inaugurated today by Kavinder Gupta, Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly, in presence of Gulchain Singh Charak, former minister and president of Shri Lakshami Narayan Mandir Management Trust along with other trustees.
The inauguration ceremony, performed amidst reciting of “Ved Mantras” and “Shankh Dhuni”, was attended by large number of devotees and local public of the area, besides, hundreds of School children standing on both sides of the Mandir Marg.
Kavinder Gupta, while speaking on the occasion, congratulated the concerned Government agencies for the renovation of Marg and directed them to repair and renovate the drainage system by properly digging the drains blocked at different points. He also directed the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) to take necessary steps for keeping the surrounding of this historical temple complex quite neat and clean so that the devotees may not face any type of difficulty while visiting the holy complex. He also announced to release Rs 8 lakh out of his CDF for the construction of the path near the temple complex.
Thereafter, Gulchain Singh Charak along with other trustees, installed the “Shiv Lingam” at Mahadev Mandir.
Prominent among others, who participated in the function, included S C Rekhi, Deepak Gupta, S P Arora, Prem Kumar Sharma, Prithvi Raj Vaid, Pushap Raj Sharma, Romesh Thakur, Vijay Abrol, K B Jandial, Jagjit Singh Jamwal, Harish Malhotra, Prashant Sharma, Ved Verma, P C Gupta, Gulshan Kumar Bali and Gambhir Dev Singh Charak.
