Sir,
The invitation extended to tourists by Hurriyat leaders has come under severe flak from some mainstream parties and general masses.
Though it exposes Hurriyat hipocracy over some vital matters confronting the State, it at the same time should be understood in light of the old saying ‘Better late, than never’. The Hurriyat is held responsible for sabotaging the tourist season during summer months by calling continuous shutdowns in the valley in the wake of killing of terrorist Burhan Wani by security forces.
Almost all stake-holders connected with tourism industry lost their business due to turmoil in the Valley. Now, if Hurriyat wants to revive tourism industry in the State, it should be taken on a positive note. There is tremendous scope for winter tourism in the State. It should be allowed to flourish so that the State economy is back on the track, and it should also be expected that a peaceful dawn is on the horizon. Let’s up hope that the Hurriyat may have realized the futility of hartal culture, and are working towards restoring peace in the State. Better give them a chance.
Yours etc…
