LEH, Dec 8: Cluster Resource Centre Housing Colony Leh organized day-long Archery Competition among different schools falling under the Housing Colony Centre.
The teachers and the students of four Middle Schools, Three Primary School and High School Housing Colony and parents of MS Kharnakling participated in the Traditional Archery Competition held at Middle School Kharnakling Choglamsar yesterday.
The participating schools included MS Sabu, MS Tashi Gatsal, MS Tashi Thongsmon, MS Kharnakling, HS Housing Colony, PS Ayu Sabu, PS Sabu Phu and PS Choglamsar.
On the occasion, Principal DIET Konchok Angmo, Culture Academy Officer Tsewang Paljor, CEO HQ Sonam Dorjay, Zonal Education officer Leh Lobzang Rigzin, Assistant Secretary J&K BOSE Tashi Tundup, Cluster Advisor HM Housing Colony Nima Tashi, Kharnakling VEC Chairman, Goba, members and parents were present. The tournament was organized to create interest among student about the historically important sports of Ladakh and to create good coordination among staffs of various schools.
Speakers appreciated the organizer for such tournament and added that such sports create joyful learning among students.
Among the senior classes Zakir Hussian of MS Tashi Gatsal with 130 points was the winner followed by Tina of MS Sabu with 120 Points second position and Jigmet Tsultim of HS Housing Colony with 110 points third position respectively.
In the junior category Tundup Dorjay of PS Ayu Sabu with 120 points was the winner.  Among the Teachers Thinlas Yarphel of MS Sabu with 220 points winner followed by Nawang Tsultim of Ayu Sabu with 215 points and Chetan Angchuk of High School Housing Colony with 210 points stood on  second and third position respectively. Parent Konchok Dorjay with 230 points was winner followed by Tsering Toldan with 220 points were runner up in the tournament.
