KATHUA, Dec 9: The Bar Association Kathua suspended its work in the District Court Complex and continued the strike against the  Kathua Police for second consecutive day today.
All the members of Bar Association Kathua and Hiranagar suspended the work and protested against the Kathua Police and Deputy CM Dr Nirmal Singh. They sat on dharna in court complex and raised slogans. They also brunt the effigy of Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh.
While addressing advocate Rajinder Singh said that the issue was raised following the strike and Bandh in Kistwar in 2013 and Bar Association supported the  Bhartiya Janata Party bandh call.  They said that at that time the Bar supported the BJP and an altercation took place between an advocate and SI who registered a case against the advocate in Police Station. He made it clear that it will not support BJP in future.
He alleged that  the Government has withdraw all the cases during the Kishtwar unrest but a case against our colleagues Advocate Atul Singh is still pending which is injustice with Advocates fraternity. Even that the police presented a challan against Advocate  . It means the Police wanted to criminalize them and we can not tolerate it. He said if the Government did not withdraw the case the Association will  intensify agitation and take support of Bar Association Jammu.
However, Superintendent of Police Kathua Pawan Parihar while taking on the issue said that there is no differences of police with Advocates . If they have any grievances, they can connect to me . Whereas in presentation of challan against the Advocate , it is legal format and police is doing its legal job. He said counter FIR are registered against the Police Sub Inspector and Advocate .If both the parties want any compromise on the issue firstly they need to follow the legal formalities.
