JAMMU, Dec 10: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga on Saturday said that the existing sports infrastructure would further be strengthened across the State for better results.
“Government is committed to provide better sports infrastructure across the State and many more stadia and playfields would be constructed in the state,” Mr Ganga said, while speaking at semi final Football match played between RCF Kapurthala and United Football Club Amritsar during ongoing 1st Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Memorial Football Gold Cup Tournament at Mini Stadium Parade here.
Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga was the chief guest on the occasion while Minister of State for Education Priya Sethi was the guest of honour besides Ex Minister, Government of India Chaman Lal Gupta, MLA Jammu East Rajesh Gupta, and other dignitaries were also present.
The tournament is being organized by State Sports Club in collaboration with JK Bank and Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) at Mini Stadium Parade Jammu from December 1 to December 11.
The Minster on the occasion gave details of the various initiatives being taken for the promotion of sports and games in the State. Ganga said that there is a tremendous sports potential among the boys and girls and said that with the availability of improved facilities and increasing opportunities, they will excel in all sports and games adding time has come for the youth of J&K to demonstrate their talents and bring laurels to the State in the various sports events at the national and international levels.
