Homage paid to police martyrs

Srinagar, Dec 10: Inspector General of Police Armed/IRP Kashmir, Sunil Kumar, visited Police Martyr’s Memorial at Armed Police Complex at Zewan here on city outskirts and later held a darbar with police officers and Jawans in the complex.
A police spokesman said the IGP on his visit to the Armed Police complex Zewan paid homage to the martyrs of J&K police and prayed for eternal peace to the martyrs who have sacrificed their life while protecting the sovereignty and integrity of the nation.
“Later, he held a darbar with officers and jawans of JKAP 9th Battalion, JKAP 12th Battalion and women contingent of JKAP of all Kashmir based Battalions,” said the spokesman. Speaking on the occasion, the IGP Sunil Kumar appreciated the officers and jawans for performing difficult duties of law and order.
He said that Armed Police is always on the forefront while performing all the assignments given to them. In the beginning of the darbar, the IGP was briefed about the various achievements of Armed Police battalions on fronts like law and order duties, guard duties, organizing of various sports, cultural and educational activities.
During the Darbar, officers and jawans put forward various reports which were given patient hearing by IGP and assured their immediate redressal, the police spokesman added.
