JAMMU, Dec 10: Suman Gupta, a noted artist from J&K State has been nominated by Prafulla Dhanukar Art Foundation (PDAF), Mumbai to be one of the jury members in their Kalanand Art Contest- 2017 consecutively for the second time this year.
PDAF, Mumbai is a public charity trust formed for the benefit of artists in memory of Prafulla Dhanukar and conduct the largest art competition with emerging artists in all the 30 States of India and gives them hefty awards with a award money of more than one crore rupees and a platform for showcasing their work.
Prafulla Dhanukar was a giant personality in the field of art and classical music and PDAF has been created as a dynamic monument as a fitting tribute for her majestic stature. The contest is comprised of ten categories in the visual art like painting, sculpture, folk art, photography, printmaking, Installation and textile etc. The jury of the eminent Artists of India has been appointed for the Kalanand and Vidyanand Art contest meant both for the emerging artists as well as for the student categories art contest.
This year over 2000 entries have been received by the Foundation while last year, hardly 700 entries from different part of the country were witnessed.
