J&K sub-junior boys, mini girls sail into QFs of Handball Nationals

SRINAGAR, Oct 8: Continuing their brilliance on day-3, the J&K sub-junior boys team and also the mini girls team sealed berth in the quarterfinals of the ongoing Handball National Championships, being organized by J&K Handball Association, under the auspices of Handball Federation of India, here.
Earlier, J&K prevailed upon Chhattisgarh in the last league match by just one goal in an exciting contest by (21-20) in the sub junior boys section, emerging topper in the pool C and got berth in the quarterfinals, while in the mini girls section, J& K also qualified for the quarterfinals stage.
Meanwhile, in mini girls, Haryana drubbed Bihar by 14 goals (16-2), Delhi beat Maharashtra by 5 goals (13-8), Assam got better of AP by 4 goals (15-11), Kerala thrashed Punjab by 12 goals (17-5), Karnataka outplayed M P by 5 goals (12-7), J&K got walkover against Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra outclassed Bihar by 11 goals (14-3)
In Pool A of Sub-Junior boys, Delhi thrashed Goa by 18 goals (22-4), Delhi outplayed Assam by by 16 goals (21-5), Bihar beat Assam by 12 goals (31/19), Bihar defeated Kerala by 12 goals (31-19) and Kerala prevailed upon Goa by 15 goals (19-4)
In Pool B, Chandigarh trounced Maharashtra by 8 goals (28-20), Rajasthan defeated Gujarat by 3 goals (19-16) and Gujarat beat Punjab by 2 goals (26-24).
In Pool C, Chhattisgarh beat Maharashtra by 13 goals (26-13), U P trounced Maharashtra by 12 goals (19-7), J&K scripted a narrow win over UP by one goal (19-18) and J K beat Maharashtra  by 9 goals by (20-11) and J K scripted a thrilling win over Chhattisgarh by one goal (20-21).
Meanwhile, in Pool D, MP crushed Karnataka by 31 goals (34-3), West Bengal defeated Tamil Nadu by 5 goals (21-16), West Bengal beat Karnataka by 12 goals (20-8), Orissa got better of MP by one goal (25-24), Orissa defeated Tamil Nada by 3 goals (27-24) and AP beat M P by one goal (20-19)
