CTA resents slashing down of remuneration rates

SRINAGAR, Dec 11: The J&K College Teachers Association held a meeting, here today under the chairmanship of Prof Tariq Ashai, president, to express its displeasure over proposed slashing of remuneration rates for evaluation of answer scripts.
The CTA members expressed their dismay over the proposal in this regard by the examination conducting body of the University of Kashmir and termed the move as irrational and exploitative.
Prof Ashaie questioned the rationale behind the proposal and asked, ” why the remuneration rates had been kept static for last more than one decade when the examination fee of students was enhanced more than ten times during the period?
The members also expressed their concern over delay in the clearance of remuneration bills, which are pending from the last so many years with regards to the conduct of theory and practical examinations
The CTA appealed the Vice Chancellor Kashmir University to immediately intervene into the matter and investigate the issue for the large good of students and the teaching community
The meeting was attended by Prof Mir Mashook, Prof Mustaq Ahmed, Dr Shamim Ahmad, Prof G M Wani, Prof Farooq Ahmad, Dr Altaf Para others.
