Srinagar men go down fighting to Kathua

JAMMU, Dec 17: Srinagar men lost both their outings in the ongoing Senior State Basketball championship, but not before putting up a brave fight to their opponents. Srinagar women were, however, beaten by STC convincingly.
In the first match of the day, STC Terriers outplayed Jammu district in women section by 19-14. Pratibha contributed 8 points for the winners, while Pranti contributed 5 points for the losing side.
In the second match, Kathua men beat Srinagar by 51-36. The winners led 26-10 at the half time.  Arjun top scored with 23 points for the winners, while Mir Furkan scored 16 for the losing side.
In the third match of the day, defending champions STC Warriors beat Srinagar Women by 26-05, Kanupriya Dubey contributed 11 points for the winners.
In the last match of the day, STC Warriors defeated Srinagar men by 56-17. Shubham Sharma and Rohit Kumar contributed 10 points each for the winners.
The semifinals of the championship will be played tomorrow morning, while the final match will be played in the afternoon.
