JAMMU, Dec 17: Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member Parliament, today inaugurated IL&FS Skills Development Corporation’s first Model Skill Development Centre under “Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK)”, here at Kunjwani.
Simrandeep Singh, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, various Block Development Officers, Sarpanches, and other senior dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
PMKK is an initiative of IL&FS Skills Development Corporation, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and National Skill Development Corporation. The Centre will impart training to the unemployed youth of Jammu in different job roles like Customer Care Executives, Assistant Beauty Therapists, General Duty Assistants, Assistant Electricians, Food & Beverage – Service Stewards, Sewing Machine Operators etc. IL&FS Skills has been instrumental in executing various skill development programmes in the State since last six years.
Speaking on the occasion, Jugal Kishore Sharma said, “Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendras will help in transforming the skill landscape by harnessing youth power for the development of Jammu and Kashmir, as envisioned by our Prime Minister”. The MP further stated that Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Yojana envisages reaching out to all the blocks and villages in the country to ensure that unemployed youth receive adequate skills in the fields of their choice and caliber in order to bring prosperity to their lives and make India skilled hub of the country.
