KATHUA, Dec 17: DPS Rajbagh celebrated its 6th Annual Day with the theme “Symphony of Body and Mind”, which aptly describe the importance of healthy mind in healthy body.
On the occasion, Sajjad Gani Lone, Minister for Social Welfare, ARI and Trainings and Science and Technology, Imran Raza Ansari, Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education and Youth Services and Sports, Choudhary Lal Singh, Minister for Forest, Ecology and Enviroment, Kanta Andotra, Founder Chairman and Ram Avtar Aggarwal, Chairman of the DPS Kathua were present.
The programme started with welcome speech by Principal Nirmal Mahna, followed by annual report and felicitation ceremony.
The vibrant musicians of the school presented a “Symphony”. “Creative Hands”, an exhibition was organized, wherein different models based on science were displayed and the most attractive was “The Numismatic Corner”, where the students displayed their coins collection.
All the meritorious students were awarded. Top achievers of the class XII, the students who scored 10 CGPA in class X were also felicitated. Some teachers were also awarded with “Best Teacher Awards” and appreciation certificate.
The cultural programme started with “Surya Namaskar”, followed by thrilling and power packed performance of the tiny toddlers of pre-primary and budding artists of the primary section. The main highlight was a “Mime” based on the theme “The Environment—How important the trees are for life”. The show ended with a tribute to Armed Forces.
In the end, Headmistress, Manmita Das Raina, presented vote of thanks.
Legislators Bashir Ahmad Dar and Kuldeep Raj, PCCF AK Singh, CCF Roshan Jaggi, Chairman PCB Ravi Kesar, Chief Wildlife Warden Suresh Chug, IGP, J P Singh, DC Kathua Ramesh Kumar and DIG BSF were among others present on the occasion.
