KATHUA, Dec 18: Nikhil & Kohli XI Kathua and Road Safety XI Kashmir smashed rivals in their respective matches and sailed into the next stages of the ongoing 7th Police Martyrs Memorial North Zone Inter Club T-20 Cricket Championship, being played at Sports Stadium, here today.
The first match of the day was played between Balaji Cricket Club Kurukshetra and Nikhil & Kohli XI Kathua, wherein the latter emerged winner.
Batting first, Balaji Cricket Club Kurukshetra set a target of 141 runs by losing 8 wickets in 20 Overs. Bunty was the top scorer with 49 runs in 31 balls.
Gourav Singh of Nikhil & Kohli XI Kathua was the successful bowlers, who scalped 4 wickets.
In reply, Nikhil & Kohli XI Kathua chased the target in 15.2 overs. Gourav Tomar played a splendid inning of 102 runs off 51 balls with the contribution of 4 sixes and 13 boundaries.
Gourav Tomar was declared as Man of the Match and cash prize of Rs 2100 and a trophy were presented to him.
In the second match, Road Safety XI Kashmir registered win over Vidhya Jain Academy Delhi.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Vidhya Jain Academy Delhi made 144 runs by losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Karan Choudhary scored 59 runs off 50 balls with the help of 9 boundaries.
For Road Safety XI Kashmir, Nazir took 3 wickets in 4 overs.
In the second inning, Road Safety XI Kashmir chased the target in 16.5 overs. Shafi scored 42 runs in 35 balls with the contribution of 1 sixes and 4 boundaries.
Nazir of Road Safety XI Kashmir was declared as Man of the Match and cash prize of Rs 2,100 and a trophy were given to him.
