Team Jammu appeals Cong, NC to raise drug issue in Assembly

JAMMU, Dec19: As part of its ongoing campaign to mobilize support of Legislators to make stringent laws to deal with the menace of drug addiction, a delegation of Team Jammu led by its Chairman Zorawar Singh Jamwal today met opposition National Conference and Congress parties and sought support to bring a unanimous resolution in coming Legislative Assembly session to make existing laws more stringent to curb menace of drug addiction among youth.
During the meeting with Provincial president of  National Conference and MLA, Nagrota, Devender Singh Rana, Team Jammu sought his support and also urged him to initiate a healthy debate while rising above the party lines so that a resolution in the Assembly is passed in one voice with the support of both opposition and treasury benches.
While submitting a memorandum to Devender Singh Rana, delegation of Team Jammu reiterated their demand that Legislative Assembly should conduct special debate on this menace so that a policy should be formulated to deal with this menace which is claiming lives of innocent youths of the State.
Rana while interacting with delegation, assured full support from National Conference to deal with this menace.
Team Jammu also called on Sham Lal Sharma, former minister and senior PCC leader  and sought his support to convince Congress party to bring a resolution in the upcoming Assembly session. While sharing the working of Team Jammu in its mass awareness campaigns in past over one year, Jamwal urged upon PCC leader to convince the elected representatives of his party to collectively raise the issue in the forthcoming Assembly session.
