UDHAMPUR, Dec 21: More than 100 players from different parts including school and colleges were expected to participate in District Udhampur Chess Championship 2016. This was disclosed by the officer bearers of District Udhampur Chess Association while speaking in a press conference, he said battles across the table at the District Udhampur Chess Championship will start from December 25 and last date for entry is December 24.
The Championship will be held in male & female in all categories including Open Title Computer Point Open category 2016.
Championship venue will be be fixed at Computer Point Technologies Institute Udhampur and champoinship organised by District Udhampur Chess Association under the aegis of All J&K Chess Assocation.
Performance during the district championship will be the yardstick for selection of players in the state squads and further for the national championships truly on performance basis.
“Champion Sports and Cultural Academy (CSCA) will be coordinator, while Sky High India Social Organisaton will be supporting organization, RSCET & Computer Point Technologies will be Sponsor of this Championship.
While speaking Aman Kalsotra Official District Udhampur Chess Association said that winners of this championship will be sponsored free trip.
Officials of the Computer Point District Udhampur Chess Championship-2016 have made elaborate arrangements for the tourney. The championship will be played under FIDE (Fédération Internationale des Échecs) law. Some exciting contests are on the cards,” said District Udhampur Chess Association.
