JAMMU, Dec 23: J&K State Road Transport Corporation Workers Union delegation met the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and apprised her how some people at the helm affair misled the Cabinet for hiring private trucks by CAPD, and causing extensive losses to the SRTC.
The delegation led by Chairman of the Union Wajahat Hussain and assisted by state president Paramjit Singh during meeting with the Chief Minister briefed her about the disadvantages of dilution of SRO 157 and also how private transporters managed to rope in some top CAPD and Finance department officials for their vested interests.
They also disclosed about Rs 37 crore embezzlement pointed out in the audit report of CAPD department. They sought intervention of CM into the matter and maintained that if nothing happened they will be forced to launch agitation.
