JAMMU, Dec 24: Annual Sports Day was organised by KC International School at KCIS Acres, here today.
The chief guest on the occasion was Col. RK Singh, Commanding Officer of 173 Field Regiment. He is a recipient of many awards of the Army hierarchy.
Earlier, Vice Chairman of the School, Chaitanya Chowdhary and Principal Maya Mishra welcomed the chief guest with a bouquet.
The programme began with March Past by the senior students, wherein the squad was led by Samarthya Bhagat, Head Boy and Praguni Goyal, Head Girl of the school. This was followed by oath and then lighting of the torch.
Wonderful drill displays were put on by the students of I and II where they represented the rings of Olympics. Grade III, IV and V presented a drill signifying the National Flower of India, Lotus. Grade VII brought on a festive mood by performing famous number Waka Waka under the guidance of Randeep Wazir, the middle school coordinator. This was followed by races from Pre-Primary to Grade XII and the sprints concluded with a relay.
A few races were organized for parents, teachers and admin staff. The Tug- of-War between the teachers and students became the highlight of the show.
The event concluded with prize distribution ceremony. From the primary wing, the Cock House Trophy was awarded to Ruby House and Sapphire House. Housemistress Sabita Rajput and Sonam Manotra were the proud recipients of it by the hands of Headmistress Kesar Patel. The Cock House Trophy was won by Emerald House, headed by Rabia Arora, Housemistress from Senior Wing.
Vice Principal, Anupama Sinha presented the vote of thanks, while the programme was co-ordinated by Rajni Malhotra, Activity Co-ordinator of the School.
