VCC to lock horns with Chinar Club in AIKS Alcobrew Cricket League finals today

JAMMU, Dec 24: Scripting convincing victories over their rivals in the semifinals, Vuchap Cricket Club (VCC), Delhi and Chinar Cricket Club (CCC), Delhi have sealed berthin the finals of the ongoing month-long AIKS Alcobrew Cricket League, being organized by All India Kashmiri Samaj, in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Police Department at different venues, here.
Today, both the semifinals were organized at GGM Science College Hostel ground, wherein the players displayed composure, serenity, class and promise to vie for the top honours.
In the first semifinal played today, put into bat, VCC scored a decent total of 182 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Raj top scored with 87 runs, while Ashwani Bhat contributed 71 runs to the total. Both the batsmen played with fluid grace and utter brilliance and sent the rival bowlers on a leather hunt. For Sai Cricket Club, Arun was the pick of the bowlers, who took 5 wickets, while Anil claimed one.
In reply, Sai CC bundled out for a paltry total of 86 runs in 15.5 overs, thus lost the match by a huge margin of 96 runs. Yogesh, Surinder and Vinay contributed 16, 14 and 11 runs respectively. Arvind was the most successful bowler from VCC who took 3 important wickets, while Sanjeev bagged 2 and Dimple claimed one.
Joint Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (Kashmir Wing) and former Ranji trophy player, Shiban Lal Trakroo was the chief guest on the occasion, who interacted with players of both the teams. He was accompanied by Ashinder Koul, former chairman of selectors JKCA and Rajesh Dhar, Chairman Media Committee JKCA.
In another semifinal, Chinar Cricket Club defeated Sangarmal Cricket Club in an easy contest by 7 wickets. Batting first, Sangarmal Cricket Club scored a modest total of 97 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Miskeen top scored with 38 runs, while Rocky contributed 16 runs to the total. For Chinar Cricket Club, Vishal took 3 wickets, while Aman and Rahul bagged 2 wickets each.
In reply, Chinar Cricket Club chased the target easily by losing 3 wickets, thus won the match by 7 wickets. Aman played a brilliant innings of 51 runs, while Rahul and Sandeep contributed 19 and 17 runs to the total respectively.
President Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) Srinagar was the chief guest on the occasion and interacted with players of both the teams. He was accompanied by cricket promoter Ajay Pandita from Delhi and other dignitaries.
The matches were officiated by Amit Gupta, Saleem-ur-Rehman, Sanjay Raina and Vinod Kandyara.
