Rompy’s all-round show helps Stadium XI Kathua to thrash MSC Delhi

KATHUA, Dec 28: All-round display by Rompy Sharma helped Stadium XI Kathua to outplay Malik Sports Club Delhi by 63 runs in the ongoing 7th Police Martyrs Memorial North Zone Inter-Club T20 Cricket Championship, being organized by Police Martyrs Welfare Committee Kathua in collaboration with J&K Police Department at Sports Stadium, here.
Earlier, Stadium XI Kathua won the toss and chose to bat first and set a target of 133 runs in 19.4 overs. Rompy Sharma and Radhey Sham scored 27 and 25  respectively.  Andraz of  Malik Sports Club  Delhi  took 3 wickets by conceding 18 runs in 2.4 overs.
In reply, Malik Sports Club Delhi bundled out for a paltry total of 69 runs in 14.4 overs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 63 runs. Pardeep and Prithvi of Malik Sports Club Delhi scored 15 and 13 runs respectively. Rompy and Arvind of Stadium XI Kathua took 3 wickets each.Rompy was declared as man of the match and was presented a cash prize of Rs. 2100 and a trophy by Rajesh Gupta of Ridhi Tiles.
In another match, Minverva Cricket Club Chandigarh won the toss and chose the bat first to set a target of 131 runs for Sabhi Cricket Club Hoshiarpur. Sandeep Singh and Sandy scored 48 and 25 respectively. Deepak Punia, Amit and Ronak of Sabhi Cricket Club Hoshiarpur took 2 wickets each. Sabhi Cricket Club Hoshiarpur easily chased the target by losing 4 wickets in 15.4 overs. Akhil and Amit scored 59 and 21 runs respectively. Naved Hussain of Minverva Cricket Club Chandigarh took 3 wickets by conceding 25 runs in his 3 overs.
Akhil was declared as man of the match and received a cash prize of Rs 2100 and a trophy from Rajesh Kumar Sharma.
Earlier, in the pending super over between Malik Sports Club Delhi and Sabhi Cricket Club Hoshiarpur, bating first Sabhi Cricket Club Hoshiarpur scored 8 runs, while Malik Sports Club Delhi scored the required runs to clinch victory. Mohit of Malik Sports Club  was declared as man of the match with a cash prize of  Rs. 2100 and a trophy by Happy of Municipal Council Kathua.
The proceedings of matches were conducted by Ravinder Slathia, President Police Martyrs Welfare Committee Kathua.
The matches were officiated by BCCI panel umpires Sudhir Singh and Amit Gupta alongwith local umpire Anoop.
