JAMMU, Dec 28: Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha is going to honour meritorious students of the Brahman community, who have excelled in academic results of J&K Board of School Education and CBSE for the session 2015-2016.
Addressing a press conference here today, president of the Dogra Brahman Sabha, Ved Parkash Sharma disclosed that in this connection, a grand felicitation function (Samman Samaroh) is being organised in the premises of Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha at Parade Ground, Chankya Chowk, Jammu on January 15, 2017.
Sharma further disclosed that Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha has sought the presence of J&K Governor, NN Vohra to be the chief guest on the occasion besides several others including Ministers, Chief Secretary B R Sharma and a few other bureaucrats. Noted personalities from different fields and members of the community will participate in the programme being held in the premises of Brahman Sabha, at Parade, Jammu.
The Sabha president revealed that such students, who have secured positions among top twenty in Matric and top ten in class 12th exams from J&K BOSE during session 2015-2016 or 90 percent and above marks in CBSE, will be honoured during the “Samman Samaroh”.
Sharma further appealed to meritorious students from the community to submit their requisite testimonials/ certificates to the Brahman Sabha office by or before January 10, 2017 from 10 am to 5 pm or contact at land line number of the Sabha Bhawan, 0191-2574998.
Sharma further disclosed said that the Brahman Sabha also plans to honour meritorious sports persons, noted journalists, social activists, musicians, artist, writers, poets etc from the community in near future.
Among others who were present at the conference included VM Magotra, Satya Nand Sharma (Chairman), Nanak Chand Sharma, ML Sharma, Adv PC Sharma, Surinder Sharma, Shiv Ram Sharma, Jagan Nath Sharma, Subash Shastri, Gurdass Sharma and Mohan Lal Sharma.
